Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the immune system attacks the myelin sheath — the protective coating around nerve fibres. Please note: The most rigorous evidence for BEMER in multiple sclerosis comes from a published, blinded, randomised controlled trial conducted at the Department of Neurology, University of Dresden. Piatkowski, Kern, and Ziemssen (Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 2009) enrolled 37 RRMS patients with significant fatigue — 19 receiving real BEMER, 18 receiving a placebo device identical in appearance and sound. After 12 weeks of 8-minutes twice daily home use, the BEMER group showed statistically significant improvement in total fatigue (Modified Fatigue Impact Scale, p=0.024) and fatigue severity (Fatigue Severity Scale, p=0.016). Physical and cognitive fatigue dimensions both improved; no adverse events occurred. The AFB multi-centre study (2002) documented 14 MS cases — 72% showed positive improvement.
